Proud that our paper in Annals of Biomedical Engineering is finally out! This is the result of Alessandro Giudici visiting me at Yale University on an Artery Society research exchange grant, right before the pandemic shut down the university (Alessandro left from a deserted JFK airport…)!
In this work, Alessandro proposes a method to combine simple, uniaxial testing data on individual layers of the pig thoracic aorta into a realistic tri-layered, biaxial constitutive model.
Thanks to the Artery Society for enabling Alessandro to visit me. As a result, he is now a postdoc at our lab at Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM), Maastricht University.
Thanks also to Jason Szafron and Ashraf W Khir for their valuable input!
